Gene Raymond is one bad Mamma Jamma of a vocal coach! I personally witnessed the immediate results of his work. Having worked with some of the finest vocal coaches on the planet (I was house engineer and producer for Hamstein Music Group and currently the Operations Director for CardinalZen Music Group) I was totally happy to find someone in my own backyard with world-class skills. I am currently developing and producing a project for our label with an artist from Oklahoma named Britni Hoover. Since getting vocal lessons with Gene starting last December/ January 2004, I have made tremendous strides with my singing ability. I have increased my range by leaps and bounds, improved my pitch, strength, endurance, breathing, limiting facial expressions and scream in ways I never thought possible. I honestly could not have gone this far with my band without not only his excellent technique, but his ability to make me feel comfortable with what I'm doing, to give positive reinforcement, and push me to the limits every time I have a lesson. This technique is what I've been looking for for years! I have already experienced a new freedom in reaching for notes that would have intimidated me in the past. Gene is great at keeping the energy level high during the session, helping me to laugh at myself even when I feel silly doing some of the exercises, and encouraging me to expect continued progress. I do expect to continue to see improvement as a vocalist as I learn and practice the techniques.

I am a vocalist in Austin and I have been studing voice for fifteen years with at least eight different teachers. After all this time, I have wondered why I still had trouble with my voice getting tired after gigs and still had a significant break. It wasn't until I had my first lesson with Gene that I realized that I have been learning all the wrong things and that what I have learned in the past was exactly what hurt me. I studied voice with Gene Raymond for several months preparing for a very important audition. Gene teaches the "Seth Riggs" vocal technique and I can't praise him enough for showing me a way to use my voice to reach the high notes that I have always been holding back. He helped me get through "my breaks" with ease and now I feel very comfortable and I am no longer fearful to go for it. I auditioned for the role I wanted and got it. I've always had a passion for singing, but never thought that I could really get anywhere as a baritone. I searched and studied with a few coaches and they never seemed to help me get to where I wanted to be. Then I found a technique called "speech level singing." It helped me to really see the true potential in my voice and even helped me discover my true voice and range. I've studied this technique for about 3 months on my own and then started to study with Gene Raymond, a coach in this style of vocal training. Gene has helped me discover how to transition between my chest voice and head voice more fluently and naturally. Since I've started studying with him, I've found new doors opening up for me and my career as a singer. I've only been using this technique for about six months now and can already see a dramatic difference in my vocal abilities.

I'm totally amazed each time I leave from a day of working with Gene
Raymond. He helps me recognize my weaknesses and then walks me through
a variety of vocal exercises that instantly improve my vocal range. As
if that isn't enough to absolutely adore him, the best part is seeing
how excited he gets when I finally hit the notes I'm trying for. Gene

I met Gene after I had been singing seriously for about 10 years. When I decided that I wanted to be a professional singer I was encouraged by many teachers. However, after a few years of study, I developed a quivery vibrato and lost the depth of my voice. When I met Gene, and began to study Speech Level Singing, we discovered that I had compensated for a large break in my voice by singing only in my head voice. When I came to Gene, I had many years of frustrating trials of trying to be a decent rock vocalist. I fronted a band in Austin that gigged on a regular basis and found myself getting tired and hoarse within the first few songs on the set list. Always struggling to reach high's and sing in key with ease, I often became discouraged and wondered if I was cut out to be a lead vocalist.
But in as little as a few sessions with Gene, I began to see and hear an incredible difference in the tone and overall control of my singing voice. With diligence, I stayed with it, and it wasn't long before I was singing notes, that only weeks earlier, I wouldn't have bothered even trying to sing. My range dramatically increased, and now I am more confident in my singing ability than ever! I can hardly wait to get back into the studio , and on stage, and put this technique to work like never before. I would say to anyone considering speech level singing with Gene to go for it.
